The Beginning of IN8TE: From Camino to Fitness Racing Competition
Some stories start with an idea. Ours started with a walk. A long one.
In 2014, I ran the Camino de Santiago, the Primitivo route in northern Spain. Over 12–14 days, the route gains and loses almost the height of Everest. Every single day, someone would stop me and ask:
"You’re fit, have you ever tried HYROX?"
It happened about 20 times. That curiosity nagged at me even after I got home to the UK. I signed up for my first race, grabbed some gear, and quickly realised: nothing out there worked for this sport. The fabrics slipped, they were too hot, the grips failed, the designs were all “style over function.” Or as Stuart often say's "more generic shit."
So I asked to a few people: How hard could it be to build a sport-specific solution?
The answer: Crazy. You can’t compete with the global giants.
Crazy? That sounded right up our street. Let’s go.
Building With the Best
Over the following year, I assembled a team of top talent in sportswear design, product development, commercial growth, and legal all committed to one mission: make athletes faster in fitness racing.
Every stitch, every fabric choice, every piece of functionality has been influenced by the athletes who will wear it, and most of them with serious stake in the game. Built by the community, for the community. No BS. No ego. Listen and do.
The Philosophy Behind IN8TE
The core idea is simple: gear should earn its place in the arena. If it doesn’t hold up under pressure, under fatigue, under real race conditions, it doesn’t make the cut. That’s our non-negotiable rule for our Hybrid Fitness Products.
We’re building more than apparel. We’re building performance equipment. Shoes that lock, panels that manage moisture, grip zones that actually grip. Every second matters and we have obsessed over every one.
What’s Next
Over the last few weeks, our kit has been race-tested by elite Hyrox athletes at the EMEA Regional Championships in London, then across the APAC Regionals. Every insight, every test, will refine the product before it reaches you.
And yes pre-sale launches soon. Only 250 full kits to start. We’re starting small because we have to get it right. I will be 100% honest upfront, of course it won't be perfect. But this is where we start, and anyone that has experienced the product will tell you - it's already better than any other option. We have bigger ambitions than that - we want to genuinely prove a 1% gain.
This is just the beginning. The journey from the Camino to the competitive floor has taught me one thing: if you see a problem, solve it with precision, community, and obsession for performance.
Welcome to IN8TE, I can't believe we made it here.
